As I wrote before this watch was available at the Lidl for only 17,99 euro. For that price you cannot expect much but when I open the box it all looks very good. Both the watch and chest belt have a CR2032 battery cell which is easy to replace. Have to admit that the watch is fat, what makes it ugly big. On the other side, what can you expect for this price?
After settings the time and date you can define your user profile. Sex, age, max heart rate, weight and length and your activity level you can start. With the chrono mode you can define an intensively level, lower heart rate, max hear rate, alert beep, your target calorie usage if you want it and the time for warming up. It's all easy to setup when you follow the manual.
The chest belt is easy to wear and worked without problems right away for me. All together, it's a complete solution for a cheap price that works fine.

After installing RUN.GPS Trainer UV you first have to get used to the new interface. It's a big confusing at the first time but once you're used to it, it works great. All the graphics look a better and there are more speech options. That's the greatest thing I like, you can hear what your stats are during your trip. I put my PDA always away so I cannot see it but I listen to music while RUN.GPS tells me how fast I am cycling. It's very simple to compare your tracks to the last time to see if you gain in speed or distance. Afterwards you can simply upload your track to there portal server and see it on Google maps. Together with the analysis like I showed before it gives you all the information you need.
There are still things that need improvement, apart from the text sometimes not fitting on a button (assume it's a beta problem) the big "problem" with all those programs like RUN.GPS or GPSTuner is that the background maps are not easy to import. You have to make screen dumps from Google maps and imported them.
All together it works fine on my PDA while cycling, the only thing I still miss is heart rate monitoring but that's more a hardware problem then software. More about that in my next post.

What my wish was always to be able to register my cycling tracks and see details about it afterwards. A simple cycling computer cannot track your route since it does not know where you're going to. Now with today's mobile devices with building GPS it's possible.
RUN.GPS will plot your training on a map (where you can create a background image from Google maps) and it will tell (it actually speaks) you all details about speed, distance, pause times, altitude and lap details. Once finished you can upload the information to the portal and if you took pictures during your trip it will show them together with your track on a Google map. You can also predefine a route you want to cycle on the portal and then download it into your mobile device and it tell you where to go to and show you remaining distance.
Have a look at their website if you're interested in using your Windows mobile device for recording information on your sport. http://www.rungps.net/
At the portal you can see where you have cycled and information about your tracks
